Appointment of NHS Future Fit Transformation Director

January 2016

Debbie Vogler is the new Programme Director for the NHS Future Fit Programme. Debbie’s appointment follows the departure of Mike Sharon, who recently started a new Director role at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust. Debbie's previous role was as Director of Business and Enterprise
at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust. Whilst she will take on some responsibilities with immediate effect, the full transition to her new role will be completed during January whilst she hands over her current responsibilities at the Trust. Her appointment to the Programme Director role will be on a secondment basis for 2 years and her base will be at William Farr House. She will report into the joint Senior Responsible Owners (SROs) for the NHS Future Fit Programme.

The Programme’s case for change highlights the opportunity to improve the quality of care we provide to our changing population. Changes to the management, scope or structure of the programme need to support this aim, strengthening our ability to implement the clinical model, designed and supported by hundreds of local clinicians and patients. Debbie has been very involved in the NHS Future Fit Programme as the Acute Trust’s executive lead since the programme’s inception over 2 years ago. The skills and experience she brings, together with the opportunity to maintain continuity and organisational memory, were key considerations in making this appointment. This will ensure that we can continue at pace with the critical path, taking us to public consultation by the end of 2016.

Over the coming months we are going to take some hugely significant steps as a health system as we agree the future shape of our acute and community health services. These are critical decisions that aim to safeguard the experience, outcomes and safety of health care for our communities across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and mid Wales for generations to come.
